| About us.....My name is Kendall Berg owner of KB Sportbike. We are a small shop in Southern California's high desert and we specialize in Suzuki's TL1000 based engine line. We are the only shop making a true big bore-large displacement engine kit for the TL. We do not simply overbore cylinders, we re-make the stock cylinder using a top of the line iron sleeve and use our own 102.5mm piston made by Arias a world leader in high performance pistons. The cylinders are internally sealed using a viton o-ring to prevent water seepage past the water jackets and into the crankcase. We use a copper head gasket to seal the cylinder head. We have found this material to work best due to the increased combustion pressures generated and for sealing the top of the cylinder sleeve and are available in three sizes .021,.026,.032 in order to raise or lower compression ratio. .026 is the standard size. All crankshafts are checked for cracks and for straightness before any work is performed. The crank is then ground past the factory hardened layer and then is "submerged welded" and reground to spec, bearing surfaces are polished,heat treated (hardened), checked for straightness and balanced to your set of pistons and rods. Three kits are available: 1088cc, 1140cc and 1188cc each kit is available in three stages of performance: *Stage one -basic kit with all necessary pieces to complete the installation. **Stage two-includes the basic kit plus performance cams and adjustable gears plus a fresh valve job performed on your cylinder heads. ***Stage three-includes stage one and stage two plus new stainless steel valves,seals and springs installed on your cylinder heads. SUPERBIKE MOTORS-Any size engine kit may be upgraded to "superbike". A superbike motor includes everything listed in stage three plus oversized steel valves, seals, springs and a strategic porting to each cylinder head. The 1088 is the base kit. Each kit comes with two new cylinders, two 102.5mm pistons, wrist pins, circlips, two head gaskets and an 4oz head gasket sealer. The 1140 uses the same cylinders and pistons as the 1088 but also includes a 69mm crankshaft, 8 head studs & nuts, and two Carillo H-beam connecting rods with new rod bearings, cylinder base plates and head gaskets are also included. The 1188 contains the 102.5mm pistons and cylinders, Carillo rods and bearings, 72mm crankshaft, 8 head studs and nuts, base plates, head gaskets, longer cam chains, manual cam chain tensioners, two Denso 12 hole secondary fuel injectors and modified cam chain drive shaft.
